Matt Collinson is an adjunct professor in the department of Justice Law and Criminology, teaching classes related to the interactions of systems of justice, the importance of the pre-trial process, and the role of racism and racial bias in the administration of justice.
For his "day job" Mr. Collinson serves as the Director of Programs and Impact for JustLeadershipUSA, the only criminal justice reform organization in the US run by people directly impacted by the US criminal legal system. His role includes supporting training for leaders across the USA who have been impacted by the legal system, raising up leaders to end oppressive systems in their community, and evaluating program impact. He empowers a team of directly impacted leaders who are investing in advocates across the country to change local and national policies supporting oppressive systems; to bring about local and national systemic change.
